What is identity?

This site is many things for me. I have lots of ideas and no good place to put them. I take photos and want to show them to my friends. I have opinions about many things, which everybody should know about of course. In today’s age, there’s lots of platforms for everything. Pinterest for ideas, Instagram for photos, and Twitter for your hare-brained opinions. Because of this, you have absolute freedom of expression. But this compartmentalization makes it harder and harder to maintain a coherent identity. On a deep level, this upsets me because it feels as if this is contributing to voluntary “typecasting”:

He’s a tortured genius schizo absent minded will hunting …

Stop this shit! I am, and always have, been too complex to fit myself into a neat little box. But complexity itself can end up in noise. I believe true identity is the expression of simple principles interacting in infinitely complicated ways. In other words, chaos.
